This was a really special engagement session. After discovering Cengiz’s destination engagement sessions and more importantly his overall approach to every Engagement session, Seth & I discussed how we, like many Couples, often think of the engagement session as a simple add-on to wedding day photography.
We decided to stop doing that.
For this session, we spoke with the Couple about fashion and knew they wanted to include their dog. So in the days leading up to the session we carefully plotted our locations, timing, lighting, and added a few props specific to this couple that we though would be fun.
One thing that we DO NOT like to do is re-use ideas or locations. I really don’t like to repeat myself, which is why I am sensitive to the use of props. Nothing drives me crazier than seeing a very recognizable object in multiple sessions with different people.
So this doggie basket now belongs to our Clients, and this bench is in our Foyer.
It was theirs & theirs alone for this shoot. And while we don’t own the walking path or alley which both have EPIC lighting, we are fortunate to live in an area that allows for extensive shooting locations – inside & out – within a very short distance of our studio.
What a fun Sunday session!
